Questo week-end il nostro team era impegnato nella SPA-Classic organizzata dalla Peter Auto nel
contesto del CER e del Endurance Racing Legends con la 934 Turbo Jagermeister e la 996 RSR GT2.
In Belgio il meteo ha risparmiato i nostri ragazzi dalla pioggia che si è vista in maniera lieve solo al venerdì mattina, giornata in cui erano in programma 3 sessioni: le prove libere del CER II dove Cabianca e Fratti riscontrano dopo pochi giri una noia al cambio per la 934 Turbo e le due Qualifiche, 11:35 e 17:30, del campionato Endurance Racing Legend nel quale Maurizio Fratti alla guida della 996RSR GT2 conquista un 12° posto assoluto, 3° di classe GT2b, dietro solamente alle due Viper. Sabato la 996 RSR disputa le due gare, alle 09:15 gara 1 chiusa con uno stupendo 2° posto di classe, così come gara 2 in programma alle 14:30. Fratti è riuscito a mettere tra lui e gli inseguitori secondi a sufficienza per gestire la gara nel migliore dei modi.
Nel mentre il programma prevedeva alle 12:50 le qualifiche del CER II dove la 934, rimessa in pista dai ragazzi durante la sera precedente, chiude le prove con un 12° posto di classe; una classifica che non rispecchia appieno le caratteristiche della vettura ma che con il tempo di 2’ 47” 240 la dice lunga sulle potenzialità dell’auto. La gara del CER II è in programma alla domenica, 60’ con in mezzo il cambio-pilota. Parte Cabianca che conduce una gara accorta e lontana dai guai portando la vettura al collega in 10°
posizione di classe; lo stint di Maurizio è condizionato dalla doppia safety-car, l’equipaggio chiude all’8° posto di classe ed in ottica campionato la classifica sorride loro poiché non tutti gli avversari diretti sono riusciti a terminare sotto la bandiera a scacchi.
Un week-end sicuramente positivo per la 996 nell’Endurance Racing Legend ma un sorriso si legge anche sul volto di Cabianca-Fratti che con la 934 venerdì erano rimasti inapprensione prima che i ragazzi del team con un lavoro impeccabile risolvessero l’intoppo verificatosi al venerdì.
TWO 2ND PLACES FOR FRATTI INTO THE 996 RSR IN THE ENDURANCE RACING LEGENDS AT SPA.
This weekend our team was busy on two stages: two 718 Cayman into the Endurance Italian GT Championship in Misano and with the 934 Turbo Jagermeister and the 996 RSR GT2 into the SPA-Classic, organized by Peter Auto in Belgium. In Belgium, unlike in Italy, the weather saved our kids from the rain, which was only mildly seen on Friday morning when three sessions were scheduled: CER II free practice sessions where Cabianca and Fratti find after few laps a bore at the gearbox and the two
Qualifications, 11:35 and 17:30, in the Endurance Racing Legend championship in which
Maurizio Fratti driving the 996 RSR GT2 wins a 12th place overall, 3rd in the GT2b class,
behind only to the two Vipers. On Saturday the 996 RSR disputed the two races, at 09.15 race 1 closed with a wonderful 2nd class place, as well as race 2 scheduled at 2.30 pm. The Viper was too fast and Fratti put a lot of seconds between him and the pursuers to manage the race in the best way. Meanwhile the program foresaw the qualifications of the CER II at 12:50, where the 934, put back on track by the boys during the evening, closed the qualify with a 12th class place; a results that does not fully reflect the characteristics of the car but that with a time of 2 ’47” 240 says a lot about the potential of the car. The CER II race is scheduled for Sunday, 60 ’with the driver-change in the middle. Cabianca starts and leads a shrewd and trouble-free race by bringing the car to the colleague in 10th class position; Maurizio's stint is conditioned by the double safety car, the crew closes in 8th place in the class and for the championship the standings smiles at the drivers because not all the direct opponents gain points. A definitely positive weekend for the 996 in the Endurance Racing Legend but a smile can also be read on the face of Cabianca-Fratti that with the 934 on Friday had been apprehensive before the guys in the team with an impeccable job solved the hitch that occurred.
